Membership Qualifications

BSHRM membership is available only to individuals with a bona fide interest in the human resource management field. In general, this group includes corporate human resource practitioners, faculty members of colleges and universities and consultants providing HR expertise to multiple clients. Associate membership is available to those individuals desiring to enter the profession or who have in the past been employed in an HR capacity.

  • $100.00 Annual Membership for individuals
    Regular Membership

    Regular membership in the Chapter may be granted to:

    • Human resource professionals primarily engaged in providing human resource services exclusively for the employees of their employer
    • Human resource professionals primarily engaged in delivering human resource consulting services to one or more organizations other than their own employer
    • Individuals not actively employed in a human resource capacity but who provide a product to the HR community requiring in-depth consulting provided they achieve and maintain active professional certification(s) related to the field of human resource management (i.e. SPHR, PHR, CCP, CEBS, etc.)
    • Faculty members of colleges and universities who hold assistant, associate, or full professor rank in Human
    • Resource Management, Management, or any of its specializations
    • Placement personnel of colleges, technical schools, junior college and universities; and
    • Recent college graduates and practicing professionals not employed at the time of membership enrollment or renewal.
    • Regular members enjoy all benefits, rights and privileges of Chapter membership including the right to vote in matters of Chapter business or Bylaw changes and hold elective office in the Chapter.
    • Members who attend the monthly programs currently pay $25.00 to cover the cost of their meal and attendees at chapter workshops and seminars pay a small user fee.
  • $125.00 Annual Membership for Non-HR practitioner individuals
    Associate Member

    Associate membership in the Chapter may be granted to those individuals engaged primarily in sales or other non-human resource activities provided such individuals provide proof of and maintain current membership in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Those Associate members who achieve and maintain active professional certification(s) related to the field of human resources management (i.e. PHR, SPHR, CCP, CEBS, etc.) shall qualify for conversion to Regular membership status. Associate membership in the Chapter may not exceed fifteen percent of the total membership. Associate members shall not be entitled to vote in matters of Chapter business or Bylaw changes and shall not hold elective office in the Chapter.

    Associate members must be members of SHRM to be eligible for BSHRM Associate membership. For more information on SHRM membership, please visit: SHRM.

  • $30.00 Membership for Students
    Student Member

    Student membership may be granted to those individuals not actively employed in a human resource capacity and who are pursuing a course of secondary learning leading to employment in the HR field or a related profession. Student Members shall not be entitled to vote in matters of Chapter business or Bylaw changes and shall not be entitled to hold elective office in the Chapter.

    Undergraduate university students with a career interest in the HR profession are encouraged to join both BSHRM and SHRM.

    National SHRM Membership- To take advantage of this rate you must be a member of SHRM.
